This movie is about a young child's struggle to learn to live with her biological parents, after being raised by surrogate parents. During World War 2, Suzzane is left behind in Hungary when her parents have to leave to avoid German persecution. She is just an infant then, and she ends up living with a Hungarian family until she is 6. After that her parents arrange to get her to America, and she is taken away from the people and places she loves. While growing up in America, she has never really forgotten her foster parents, and goes back to see them when she turns 15.

I suppose what moved me the most is the boundless love of a child for the people who raised her, even though Suzanne had a more luxurious life in America with her biological parents she could never forget her surrogate parents.
